From Building Bridges to Chasing the Music
Some people spend a lifetime planning their music careers, but for Little Rock native Seth Van Dover, it all started with a borrowed guitar and a global shutdown.
In March 2020, as his sophomore year at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville shifted online, boredom struck between virtual classes. Seth tracked down a family friend's old acoustic guitar, queued up YouTube tutorials, and, quite simply, never put it down.
For a while, life followed the standard blueprint. He graduated with a Civil Engineering degree in December 2022, moved back home, and landed a job as a bridge designer at Garver Engineering. But the universe had other plans. Exactly ten days before starting his engineering career, he played his very first live gig.
For a year, he lived a double life designing bridges by day and working the local music scene by night. But the pull of the stage was too strong. In January 2024, Seth took the ultimate leap of faith: He quit his engineering job, packed his bags, and moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to pursue music full-time.
Drawing heavy influence from the grit and raw storytelling of artists like Chris Knight, Cody Jinks, Ryan Bingham, Josh Meloy and Zach Bryan, Seth brings an authentic, hard-working edge to the Texas music scene. He's been playing full-time ever since, trading blueprints for setlists and he hasn't looked back.
